61-year-old killed in car accident near Vatra town

A man died when he was struck by a car on the Chisinau-Straseni road, not far from Vatra town. Traffic Police Division spokeswoman Dana Andronic has told Info-Prim Neo that the driver of a Mercedes lost control of the car when speeding. The car skidded and hit fatally a 61-year-old man going along the roadway. A man aged 25 was struck by a car on Ismail St in Chisinau last night. He suffered contusions and a concussion. Two passengers of a minibus were injured when their vehicle was hit by an Opel-Astra on another Chisinau street, Calea Orheiului. A girl aged 16 sustained leg injuries, while a 45-year-old man was struck in the lumbar region. A woman, 71, was struck by a trolleybus on Alecu Russo St. She was rushed to the Emergency Hospital with fractures of the right shank. A bus running on route No. 32 ran into a Volkswagen on Calea Iesilor St. The car was projected into a Peugeot. Consequently, a woman aged 64 traveling in the bus got her right shoulder fractured. One person was killed and 17 injured in 13 accidents that happened on the national roads on Sunday and on Monday night. Another 21 traffic accidents did not cause victims.
