The fifth edition of the Charity Auction “Art for Art's Sake” has collected some 6,000 euros. The money obtained from selling 28 canvasses from 34 exhibited will traditionally go to Igor Vieru Fine Arts High School. The costliest picture was sold for 500 euros, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The auction was unfolded on December 4 with the motto: “Art for Art's Sake”.
The starting prices were 150-200 euros. The works are signed by painters from Moldova, Ukraine and Turkey.
High school master Pavel Turuta said the money would be used to buy painting consumables, books and revamp works. “The children's results become twice more significant when they are rewarded. And the help we receive for the fifth year in a row speaks about the fact that our work is not in vain,” he said.
The Charity Auction was launched in 2004 and is hosted by Leogrand Hotel & Convention Center, and the aegis of the Culture Minister.
