About 600 institutionalized children benefitted from free tests at several private medical labs. The validated test results were remitted to the medical personnel of the institutions for agreeing personalized treatment programs if necessary, IPN reports.

The initiative was implemented by the medical centers “Invitro Diagnostics”, “Medexpert”, “Eurolab”, “Sante” and “Micromed”, in partnership with the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family. The initiative is supported by one more private center that asked for anonymity.

In an event to mark the completion of the initiative “Health for institutionalized children”, doctor of medical sciences Boris Galca, who is the director of “Invitro Diagnostics”, said that each child, including those who are under special protection measures, have the right to high-quality medical services and access to preventive medical tests. Within the given initiative, the medical tests included a standard package of 12 vital parameters that were assessed in each child. The children under special medical care benefitted from additional clinical tests. The costs incurred within the initiative amounted to over 204,000 lei.

Vasile Croitoru, director of the National Social Protection Agency of the Ministry of Labor, said this initiative is an act of high social responsibility of the private sector and an investment in disease prevention and in the improvement of the quality of life of institutionalized children. The tests were performed using the most modern technologies of private labs.

Petru Chitanu, director of the Center “Sante”, noted that the private labs combined forces for a noble goal. “Early detection of the disease facilitates treatment. In the case of children, it is even more important because a large part of diseases in them develop asymptomatically,” he stated.

Olga Mihalchuk, director of the Center “Eurolab”, said that working in the medical sector, the institution is socially responsible. That’s why they decided to join this initiative. “We hope that this initiative will also raise the awareness of other institutions working in the fields of health protection, medicine and pharmacy,” she stated.

Within the event, there was presented an association platform of private medical labs that united for the purpose of maintaining a cooperative and transparent dialogue with the authorities and for promoting prevention programs. The platform is open to all the private medical labs that share the same objectives and values.
