The recipients of all types of pensions set before December 1 this year, which are not larger than 2,000 lei, will get a lump sum of 600 lei. The law on the provision of one-time allowances to recipients of pensions was published in the Official Gazette on December 7.
As many as 550,000 persons who receive old-age, disability and successor’s pensions and pensions for length of service, particular categories of the aviation sector employees, participants in the Chernobyl cleanup, service members and members of their families, some of the culture sector employees, recipients of early old-age pensions or other types of pensions lower than 2,000 lei will benefit from such lump sums.
The one-time allowance will be provided this December. Those entitled could collect the money from post offices or could have the money transferred to the bank card. If the person, for particular reasons, will not collect the money by this yearend, this could be collected in 2019. The lists of beneficiaries are compiled by the National House of Social Insurance.
The costs of 335,000 lei needed to pay the one-time allowances will be covered with state budget allocations transferred to the state social insurance fund.
