As many as 52 investment projects of Moldovan migrants or their relatives will be financed through the “PARE 1+1” program. The projects imply investments of 29.3 million lei, while the grants asked through the program total 9 million lei. Thus, 1 leu asked within the “PARE 1+1” program will attract about 3 lei invested in the economy, IPN repots, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Economy.
Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said the program at this stage shows optimistic results, but it can be extended by new components deriving from the opportunities that will appear when the Association Agreement that envisions the creation of a Free Trade Area with the EU comes into force.
The Moldovan migrant workers invest their savings mainly in agriculture – 20 businesses, service sector – 16 businesses, and the production/processing industry – 13 businesses. One application was submitted for a tourism business.
Most of the applications came from the municipality of Chisinau (19.6%), Drochia, Orhei, Glodeni, Straseni, and Ialoveni.
Within the program, the state provides financing of at most 200,000 lei per project.
