It is highly improbable that the Transnistrian conflict will be solved in the 5+2 negotiation format. This model of talks reached again a deadlock and we cannot expect a positive development in the future, Transnistrian issue expert Oazu Nantoi said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. In a press club meeting, the expert said that the policy of small steps promoted on both banks of the Nistru and the intention to solve the problems of the ordinary people halted with the restoration of railway traffic along the bridge in Gura Bacului from the foreign donors’ money. According to Oazu Nantoi, only several Transnistrian economic entities benefited from the restoration of the train routes, first of all the metallurgical plant. Moldova’s expectations are floating owing to the unwillingness to understand the complexity of the Transnistrian problem. “We see that the rhetoric used in Tiraspol returned to what it was in the not too distant past. The faces changed. The gender policy changed. But the essence of the problem remained unchanged,” stated Oazu Nantoi. According to the expert, there is now a kind of competition between two projects. One is called the Eurasian Union and the other one the European prospects of Moldova.
