An official Transnistrian settlement process meeting in the 5+2 format will take place in Rome during May 29-30. The preparations for the meeting were discussed by Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan in a meeting on May 17, IPN reports.
According to the Office for Reintegration Policies, the sides underlined the importance of ensuring continuity in the negotiations and of delivering concrete results in the process of implementing the protocol decisions signed by Chisinau and Tiraspol in November 2017 and April 2018.
The sides took stock of the progress made in such Transnistrian files as the Moldovan-administered Romanian language schools, the apostilling of diplomas issued by the “Taras Shevchenko” University of Tiraspol, the farmland in Dubasari district, ensuring of free movement on the bridge between Gura Bicului and Bychok, organization of interaction in electronic communication and the motor vehicles with Transnistrian license plates.
The officials also discussed the situation in the perimeter of the Security Zone, highlighting the necessity of respecting the earlier assumed commitments, including as regards the restoration of the infrastructure of the Gura Bicului - Bychok bridge and facilitation of free movement on this.
