The Liberal Democratic Youth of Moldova (TLDM) and the Youth Organization of the European People’s Party (YPPE) are launching a campaign to inform the young people about the European values and principles. The event will be held within the election campaign that will precede the November 30 parliamentary elections, IPN reports.
TLDM chairman Andrei Spanu told a news conference that the continuation of the European integration course is the only chance for Moldova to develop. During two months, 50 young people from the EU will be in Moldova and will provide information about the entry into the European Union.
“The best way to persuade the young people in Moldova is to present examples of the young people from Europe, who faced the same challenges as we and who now benefit from European opportunities,” stated Andrei Spanu.
The young people from the EU will go to universities, dorms and schools, including in villages, to inform about the advantages offered by the EU. “By this campaign, we want to bring the young people from Europe face to face with those from Moldova. We want to help the young people from Moldova to overcome the communication and perception barriers,” said the head of the TLDM.
YPPE President Konstantinos Kyranakis said the November 30 elections are very important because they are the first after the signing of the Association Agreement. “That’s why it is important to offer assistance to a generation that must be supported on the followed path,” he stated.
The election period in Moldova starts on October 1.
