50 companies present offers at Job Fair

Over 2,000 vacancies were presented by 50 companies at the Job Fair staged at the Palace of the Republic. The job vacancies are available in the public food, sales, banking and finance, accounting, IT, real estate, the public and other sectors, IPN reports.

The Job Fair was organized by the National Employment Agency in cooperation with UNDP Moldova, with the financial support of the Government of Sweden, the Government of Japan, the United National Trust Fund for Human Security, and in partnership with the International Organization for Migration and HEKS-EPER.



Alexandru Iacub, secretary general of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, said that today’s event is an intensive process of negotiation and building of active bridges between opportunities and talents.

Japan’s Ambassador in Chisinau Yamada Yoichiro noted that the period has been rather difficult for the labor market of the Republic of Moldova. Initially, there was the COVID-19 pandemic, which was followed by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and ultimately by the refugee crises. The diplomat called on the young people to profit from the existing opportunities and to develop skills for a better future.



Valeria Ieșeanu, planning and partnership development specialist at UNDP Moldova, stated that the efforts made by the authorities to facilitate the refugees’ access to the labor market and to facilitate socioeconomic inclusion that ensures also the economic security of the whole country are appreciable. The refugees experience mainly challenges similar to those faced by the local population and their integration into the labor market is very important.

The Job Fair also involved 28 craftspeople from Moldova and Ukraine, who exhibited their works.
