On Friday, five children attending the kindergarten no.151 in Chisinau got intoxicated with anticonvulsive sedatives, being hospitalized immediately.
Chisinau Emergency Service’s coordinating doctor Anatol Proca told Info-Prim Neo that an ambulance was called at around 12 AM by the kindergarten’s director. Panicking, she told the doctors that 5 children, three boys and two girls, aged 5 and 6, found some pills in the yard and swallowed them. The doctors reacted promptly, taking the children to the detox ward of the Mother and Child Centre.
A drunken 42-year-old man, resident of Budesti, suffered open head trauma, brain concussion and a wound in the parietal area. He was injured by his own son. The man was hospitalized and the police are currently investigating the case.
The collision between a Honda, driven by a 22-year-old woman, and a Ford, which occurred on Testimiteanu Street in Chisinau, resulted in two persons being hurt. The woman suffered brain contusion and nose fracture and her passenger, aged 23, head trauma and excoriation of face and knees.
At the intersection of Ungureanu and Crisan streets a Mercedes struck a 12-year-old boy, who was admitted to the ”Valentin Ignatenco” Hospital with shank fracture and traumatic shock.
An ambulance drove home a dead-drunk man who was found in the street. Anatol Proca says that while the sick people have to wait for assistance, one of the ambulance crews on duty had to play taxi-drivers because drunkards are not accepted by hospitals. The doctors have to face these situations all the time, losing precious time to take care of the vagrants and drunkards, who, normally, should be admitted to special centers, Dr. Proca said.
Over the past 24 hours, the Emergency Service recorded 736 calls, responding to 64 cases of acute viral diseases, 57 cases of trauma, 7 brain strokes and 69 cases of mumps.
