A man aged 44 was shot dead during pigeon hunting not far from Bacioi commune of Chisinau municipality in the evening of August 27. Head of the press service of the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir has told IPN that the man who opened the fire is 30. He will be investigated for unintentional killing and faces up to three years in jail.
The operative team of the Botanica Police Inspectorate travelled to the scene and confiscated the firearms. The participants in the hunting had all the required documents.
Contacted by IPN, manager for Chisinau municipality of the Hunters’ and Fishermen’s Association Victor Durbala said the victim joined the association in 2012, while the one who shot got a hunter’s permit in 2009.
According to the website of the Chisinau Emergency Hospital, a hunter called an ambulance to the scene. When examining the body, the doctor on duty established that the man was shot in the thorax for numerous times.
