4.4-magnitude earthquake shakes Moldova

An earthquake measuring 4.4 degrees on the Richter scale occurred in the Vrancea Mountains at a depth of 120 kilometers on June 8. The quake was felt in Moldova as well, mainly in the southern part. It happened at 18.16, Ilie Ilies, the head of the Experimental Seismology Center of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, has told Info-Prim Neo.
The Vrancea area is the only source of quakes that affect Moldova and the most important source in Europe.
