A number of 42 heads of state and government from Europe confirmed their presence at the European Political Community (EPC) Summit that will take place in the Republic of Moldova on June 1. Also, a large number of journalists, including international ones, asked for accreditation for the event. The organizers warn that the press can yet register during the next two days only, IPN reports.

“The summit comes to anchor the Republic of Moldova and to turn it into the center of Europe. On June 1, our country will host this summit, which is a symbolic moment that represents international recognition for Moldova and also huge responsibility for our country. Bulboaca, which will become well-known after this summit, will host over 50 heads of state and government, high-ranking officials of the European Union, and foreign journalists,” the Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă told a news conference.

A broad exercise to simulate the movement of foreign delegations to the summit was held on May 14. “This simulation was aimed at strengthening cooperation between institutions so as to see how efficient the institutions cooperate in the communication process,” noted Daniel Vodă.

According to him, maps with alternative routes that can be used by the citizens in the period for the trips to be as easy as possible have been already published.

It was reminded that in order to ensure aviation safety and security, all flights by civil aircraft will be banned all over the national airspace between midnight (local time) on June 1 and 7am (local time) on June 2, except for official aircraft. In this connection, the foreigners who will be banned entry into Moldova through the Chisinau International Airport will be accommodated at a temporary placement center.

The EPC Summit will take place at the Mimi Castle in Bulboaca village of Anenii Noi district, which is situated about 35 km from Chisinau.

The European Political Community Summit is a platform for political coordination between European countries across the continent. Its aim is to promote political dialogue and cooperation on issues of common interest in order to strengthen the security, stability and prosperity of the European continent.
