400 young people from Chisinau to be recruited in autumn

The unique commission for conscripting recruits from Chisinau into military service, in autumn 2006, was created recently by the local authorities. The preliminary recruiting plan on full time service, with reduced term or on alternative civil service comprises about 400 young men. The Municipal Military Center announced that about 3,000 young men will be informed about the need to present themselves in front of the commission. According to the decision of the Chisinau Municipal Council, expenses for organizing the autumn recruitment were estimated at 31,000 MDL. The medical services expenses provided to recruits who do not have medical insurance will be covered from the local budget. At the same time, the municipal police and the Municipal Military center will track down fugitive recruits of the last campaign. This spring in Chisinau 304 recruits for full time service were enrolled, for reduced time service – 1 recruit, and civil service – 85 young men. 1,940 young people of those 2,100 called presented themselves in front of the recruiting commission.
