Since the beginning of the spring cleanup campaign, a series of sanitation and waste collection works have been carried out throughout the municipality of Chisinau. Every day, about 400 employees are involved in this process. Mechanized cleanup works are executed with 20 Hako and Avant machines. The data were presented by the head of the General Housing and Amenities Division Ion Burdiumov at the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.
Last week, according to the approved plan, the housing services company based in Botanica district carried out works to wash 97 public transport stations, 576 garbage bins, the underground passage at the intersection of Dacia Blvd and Traian Blvd. The sidewalks on Dacia Blvd were also washed. This week, the washing works will continue on the even part of the street. Employees of the similar enterprise based in Centru district washed 81 local stations, 179 garbage bins. The sidewalk on Ștefan cel Mare Blvd, the odd and even parts of the area between Armeneasca and Ismail streets, was washed. The activities will continue this week.
In Buiucani district, 85 stations and 316 garbage bins were washed, as were the sidewalks on Alba-Iulia St and Banulescu Bodoni St. The Great National Assembly Square was cleaned. In Râșcani district, 103 stations and 241 garbage bins were washed. In Ciocana district, 104 stations were washed, as were the sidewalks on Mircea cel Batran Blvd, the technical sidewalk on Alecu Russo St, which connects Râșcani and Ciocana districts.
As many as 275 employees of the municipal enterprise “Green Areas Managing Association” were daily involved in cleanup works, while 75 employees were engaged in tree felling works. A number of 226 garbage trucks were taken away. All the bins in the green spaces of Chisinau municipality were emptied two-three times a day, which is a total of 15,000 bins a week. The alleys on Razeșilor Square, Dimo St, Dumitru Rîșcanu St, in Valea Trandafirilor Park, Valea Morilor Park, Constantin Tănase St were washed.
Ion Burdiumov said that this week the cleanup works will continue at the same pace or even more intensely, depending on the weather conditions.
The cleanup campaign in the capital city will continue until May 3.
