40 persons seek membership of TRM Observers Council

40 candidates submitted their files for the office of member of the Observers Council of “Teleradio-Moldova” Company, Corneliu Mihalache, the chairman of the Audiovisual Coordinating Council told Info-Prim Neo. Mihalache said that 24 out of 40 candidates will be selected on December 13. Afterwards public hearings will be organized on December 15 in order to select 18 candidates, whose documents will be forwarded to the specialized Parliamentary Committee. The MPs must appoint 9 members. According to the Audiovisual Code, the OC members must be public persons, with specialization in different fields, such as arts, cinematography, journalism, law, financial management of enterprises, public relations etc. As well, the members must speak Romanian and have a clear criminal record. Initially, 3 members will be appointed for a period of 2 years, 3 for a mandate of 3 years, and 3 – for 4 years. Among the competences of OC are the confirmation to the office of TRM president and directors of national radio and TV stations, approval of Company’s statute and agenda of activities.
