Almost 390 workers are daily involved in manual cleanup activities in Chisinau municipality. They clean public spaces, the courtyards of apartment blocks, garbage collection platforms, playgrounds and sports fields. Last week, they collected 238 trucks of waste.
For the disposal of vegetable waste, means of transport from municipal housing services enterprises are made available. The number of special vehicles varies between 7 and 30, depending on the amount of waste. If the volume of fallen leaves is large, the workers are helped by Avant skid steer loaders to facilitate loading works, the deputy head of the General Housing and Amenities Division Gennady Dubița said in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.
Works are carried out to demolish improvised/unauthorized kiosks, gates, fences and anti-parking devices on public lots, to dismantle and take away used metal elements from children's playgrounds in the courtyards of apartment buildings.
Mechanized sanitation works are performed on the capital's arteries, secondary streets and sidewalks with the help of Hako machines and tractors with vacuum leaf collectors. Almost 20 units were used in daily works, and only 10 units on Sundays.
