354 children from family-type orphanages have received Christmas gifts. The generous gesture has been made through the coordination of the UN Development Program (UNDP) Moldova by mobilizing members of the Global Impact Network, Info-Prim Neo reports. Moldova-Agroindbank, World Wide Aid and Cooperation Moldova, Business Club Timpul, Linella store chain, Union Fenosa, EuroCredit Bank, Foto Rapid, Codru, Moldcell, Endava, Milenium Grup, Bioprotect, Total Leasing and a natural person made the children cheer. The Child, Community, Family Organization from Moldova, supporting family-type orphanages, brings its sincere sincere thanks to the ones having contributed to the children's happiness and wish them all the very best. The family-type orphanages are an alternative form of caring for and educating orphans and parentless children. The first orphanages of this type were set up in 1989-1996. According to Alexandra Zbarnea, a specialist of the Education and Youth Ministry, there 69 family-type homes educating 350 children in Moldova. The family-type orphanages represent an alternative to traditional orphanages and raise from 3 to 7 children in their own house, including their own kids. The families starting such kind of orphanages get salaries, retirement pensions, daily allowances to pay utilities and to buy coal and wood. The children living in such families get annual indemnities, do not pay for renting textbooks and are fed free at school. They are also paid a a lump sum when turning 18.
