If snap parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, 27.3% of the citizens would vote for the Party of Socialists, 16.9% for the Democratic Party, 16.7% for the Political Bloc ACUM DA PAS and 4.1% for the Shor Party, shows the May 2019 Vox Populi survey that covered a sample of 1,189 respondents from 89 localities, IPN reports.
About 21% of the respondents said they do not know who to vote for, while 8% said they will not cast their vote. Asked which of the forces could win the snap legislative elections, 33% of those polled said none of the forces would win a majority of seats, 19% said the forces of the left would win, 14% – the forces of the center, while 11% - the forces of the right.
The respondents were asked to state the best solution, in their opinion, for overcoming the current political crisis. 28.6% of those surveyed said the solution is a coalition between the Socialists and the Democrats, 27.0% - a coalition between the Socialists and the Bloc ACUM, while 7.3% noted a coalition between the Democrats and ACUM.
As regards the most trusted political personalities, 41.4% of those questioned said they trust Igor Dodon, 10.9% - Maia Sandu, 10.5% - Vlad Plahotniuc, 7.5% - Andrei Năstase, 7.3% - Zinaida Grecheanyi, 6.4% – Ilan Shor, while 3.3% - Pavel Filip. Among political parties, the Party of Socialists is trusted by 41% of the respondents, the Democratic Party by 24%, the Party “Action and Solidarity” by 23%, the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” by 21% and the Shor Party by 13%.
The survey showed each fourth respondent considers the elections in Moldova are free and fair, while 66% disagree with this. 8% of those polled could not pronounce on the issue.
