32 young Moldovans to learn more of NATO at seminars

32 young Moldovans, most of them studying in Chisinau universities, will learn more about NATO at seminars organized by the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. The seminars bearing the name “NATO in 21st century” will start on October 23 and will last till the spring of 2009. The students will be trained by experts from Moldova and international specialists. According to the NATO Center director, Viorel Cibotaru, the drive is the first of this kind after the Center was inaugurated a year ago and pursues to inform the youths about the importance of the organization. “We are part of a European milieu and we're neighbors of the European Union. If the EU is a community seeking the economic development, then NATO insures the its security,” Cibotaru stated at his first meeting with the disciples. They will have to be selected through a contest. The youths have different background what is deemed to enable them to learn from one another. The chief of the course, Grigore Vasilescu has told the young people they think to turn the seminars into a permanent course. “After the winter session, maybe we should have a summer session?” he hinted. The seminars will be held once in two weeks, as the students will present their course-end papers on the completion of the seminars, in order to be granted graduation certificates.
