The Moldovans with the right to vote living in the territorial-administrative units of Transnistria, in Bender municipality and in some of the villages of Causeni district in the 30 presidential elections will vote at 26 polling places with the same geographical location as those set up for the previous parliamentary elections. Furthermore, there will be opened four polling places at education institutions where young people who live on the left side of the Nistru study, namely in Floresti, Ungheni, Orhei, and Soroca. A decision to this effect was taken by the Central Election Commission on October 4, IPN reports.
CEDC member Vladimir Sarban said the Transnistrians will vote in the traditional way. The voters will be written on additional rolls when they present the identity card showing that they have the domicile or residence in the given settlement.
According to Sarban, the Ministry of the Interior is to ensure access to polling places and to maintain public order. The decision will be communicated to the Joint Control Commission so that this guarantees the security of the voting process at the mentioned polling places.
