30 issues on CIS summit agenda

The agenda of the CIS premiers' Summit in Chisinau comprises over 30 issues. The schedule was discussed Wednesday by Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin with the chair of the Executive Board of the Community of Independent States, Sergei Lebedev, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the presidential press service, they underlined the significance of adopting a Strategy of the CIS Economic Development till 2020, documents on cooperation in transportation, as well as measures to enhance the food safety of the CIS countries. Sergei Lebedev has remarked the high level of the Moldovan preparation of the summit. They have discussed about Moldova taking over the CIS chair in 2009. Moldova is to set out its priorities taking into account the CIS decisions adopted in Bishkek this year. The CIS declared 2009 as the Youth Year as special attention will be granted to energy-related issues. Sergei Lebedev has remarked Moldova's experience in staging actions dedicated to the Youth Year marked in 2008 in this country. Vladimir Voronin has expressed Moldova's availability to share its experience within the CIS. He underlines the Moldovan authorities' intention to undertake all the measures to successfully accomplish its tasks in exerting the CIS rotating chairmanship. The CIS summit will unfold in Chisinau on November 13-14.
