3 injured in road accidents caused by sleet

Three persons, including two children were injured on Wednesday morning, January 10 as a result of road accidents caused by sleet, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the coordinating-doctor of the Emergency Service of Chisinau, Anatol Proca, the first accident happened on Costiujeni Street. A Mitsubishi driven by a young man capsized because it was not adapted to the driving conditions. As a result of the accident, the driver’s brother aged 8 suffered injuries to the internal organs. The child was admitted to “Valentin Ignatenco” hospital. A Soroca-registered Volkwagen-Golf skidded on a patch of ice on Milescu Spataru Street and bumped violently into the protection rod. As a result of the impact, the passengers of the automobile suffered head traumas – a child aged 4 and woman aged 51 who came to Chisinau to make medical investigations at the National centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery, where she was transported by the doctors who came at the spot of the accident. During the last 24 hours, the Emergency Service of Chisinau registered 674 calls, including 40 cases of traumatism, 3 brain ictuses and one heart attack.
