A number of 28 files were registered for the national stage of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. “Among those who managed to enroll in the great musical struggle are artists with experience and young people who will perform for the first time on the big stage,” it is said on the Facebook page of Eurovision Moldova.
Under the regulations, the winner will be chosen in three stages. The first stage consists of the audition of phonograms in the absence of participants. The live auditions will follow and later the jury will choose at most 16 songs for the final stage. The final stage of the national selection consists of the semifinal and national final that will take place on March 2 and 3, IPN reports.
The singer or band that will garner the largest number of points following the adding up of the jury vote and tele-voting will become the winner of the national final.
The 64th Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Israel after singer Netta conquered the public with the song “Toy” in Lisbon last year. The two semifinals will be held on May 14 and 16, while the final on May 18, 2019. As the previous years, the show will be broadcast live by Moldova 1, Radio Moldova and online on trm.md.
At last year’s contest, Moldova was represented by the band DoReDoS with the song “My Lucky Day” and this ranked tenth. The song was composed by Russian singer Filip Kirkorov.
