If tomorrow there were elections for the general mayor of Chisinau, 26.5% of Chisinau dwellers would vote for the PSRM candidate, Ion Ceban, and another 21.4% will support Andrei Năstase, the candidate of ACUM Electoral Bloc. The PL candidate Dorin Chirtoaca, former mayor, would accumulate 5.2% of the votes of the municipality inhabitants.

According to an opinion poll presented by WatcDog.MD and CBS AXA on Monday, October 14, at an IPN press conference, 8.7% of respondents said they would not vote. 17.6% of the respondents are undecided and 10.1% did not want to reveal the name of the candidate for whom they would vote.

WatchDog.MD expert Valeriu Pasa mentioned that the previous two opinion polls showed a rapid increase in the number of Ion Ceban’s voters, whereas this third poll indicates a decrease. Otherwise, the number of Andrei Nastase' s supporters has risen compared to the situation reflected in previous surveys. Dorin Chirtoaca has the same score, while the rating of Vladimir Cebotari (2.2%) is down as compared to the previous poll.

As regards the vote for Chisinau City Council, 29.8% of Chisinau inhabitants would vote for the PSRM team. 22.7% would support the ACUM Bloc team, and 3% the PL team. Mandates in the CMC could be obtained by PDM, Şor Party and PCRM.

Vasile Cantarji, CBS-AXA sociologist, said that 74.6% of the inhabitants of the municipality estimated that they would participate in the elections next Sunday, without noticeable differences between men and women. Romanian speakers show a greater interest in elections, compared to Russian speakers. Compared to the first opinion poll, presented a month ago, the share of those who would participate by all means in the elections has increased.

The interviews were conducted on the telephone and on site. The margin of error is +/- 4.7%. Data have been collected between October 5-13.
