A number of 222 persons diagnosed with COVID-19 are in a serious state and 24 of them were put on a ventilator. By this moment, Moldova has got 3,481 cases of infection with the novel coronavirus. 975 persons were cured and 50 of them were discharged from the hospital on April 27. The death toll now stands at 103. The updated data were presented after the morning meeting of the National Focal Point.
In a press briefing, Tudora Bodarev, who works as a nurse at the triage center COVID-19 in Chisinau, said the medical personnel work in two shifts and 30-40 samples for testing are taken during one shift. The medical workers are taught how to correctly put on and take off the protective equipment so as to avoid infection.
In the morning of April 28, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection said a 65-year-old woman from Soroca, who worked at the buffet of the Soroca District Hospital, succumbed to the disease.
