The current academic year, the state finances 232 grants for scientific and professional doctoral studies, of which 224 are intended for scientific doctorate. The doctoral grant includes the individual scholarship and the costs for the advanced study program and for the research or artistic creation program, IPN reports.
The Cabinet approved the state-funded doctoral higher education admission plan for the academic year 2024-2025. The Ministry of Education and Research said the grants are awarded on the basis of a competition of scientific projects between the doctoral schools of higher education institutions.
“The grants will be awarded in six fields specified by the nomenclature of scientific specialties, such as natural sciences – 29, engineering sciences and technologies – 11, medical sciences – 70, agricultural sciences – 7, social and economic sciences – 73, humanities – 38,” said Nadejda Velishko, secretary general of the Ministry.
The plan for admission to doctoral studies includes four places with state funding for foreign citizens, according to the international treaties to which the Republic of Moldova is a party.
