22,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses distributed to Transnistrian region in a month

As many as 22,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses were redistributed to the Transnistrian region from the humanitarian aid received by the Republic of Moldova and from the purchases made with budget funds during June 16 – July 21, 2021, IPN reports, quoting the Reintegration Policies Bureau.

More exactly, the Transnistrian region was offered 15,000 Jonson&Jonson vaccine doses, 5,000 Sinopharm doses and 2,000 AstraZeneca doses.

According to the Bureau, the vaccines were distributed equitably and proportionally to all the territorial-administrative units of the Republic of Moldova, including the eastern districts of the country.

Besides vaccines, the Transnistrian region also received humanitarian aid that contained personal protective equipment and state-of-the-art medical devices, while the vaccinated persons in the region can confirm the validity of the vaccine certificate at the local subdivisions of public health facilities situated close to the administrative line.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign in the Republic of Moldova started on March 2 and over 892,000 vaccine doses have been administered so far, with over 107,000 doses of these being administered in the territorial-administrative units situated on the left side of the Nistru and in the municipality of Bender.
