Warm lunches will be distributed free to people in need following the Easter campaign “Meal of Joy” that was carried out by the Social Mission “Diaconia” of the Bessarabian Metropolitan Church in 13 settlements of the country. As many as 22 tonnes of food products were collected within this campaign. The donations will turn into lunches that will be distributed daily to the beneficiaries of the social canteen, while over 800 elderly people and socially deprived families will receive Easter parcels, IPN reports.
According to a communique of the Social Mission “Diaconia”, 19 tonnes of food products were collected in Chisinau alone. All the resources accumulated within the campaign will become warm lunches for the beneficiaries of the mobile social canteen “Close to those who are close to us”, which daily serves over 180 persons in need in Chisinau and 100 elderly people in other regions.
Easter parcels will be distributed to families from Chisinau, Edinet, Ungheni, Stauceni, Balti, Calarasi, Cahul, Donduseni, Stefan-Voda, and Causeni the coming days.
