About 22 million lei will be allocated until 2011 for setting up traffic signs on the national and local roads, Minister of Construction and Territorial Development Vladimir Baldovici told reporters. According to the minister, there will be installed about 15,000 road signs and over 11,000 informative posters. “The traffic signs and informative posters will be incorporated into a console system in order to avoid thefts. The first 85 signs and posters will be installed next spring,” Vladimir Baldovici said. Andrei Cuculescu, the head of the Road Network Development and Investment Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that a part of the money needed to set up traffic signs will be allocated from the budget of the national road rehabilitation project, while the other part from the Road Fund. In 2009, the Road Fund will total 231 million lei. There are 23,600 road signs on Moldova’s roads at present.
