The National Award Commission convened on August 8 to examine the applications submitted for receiving the National Award. It selected 22 of the 25 applications filed as three of them didn’t meet the regulations concerning the National Award, IPN reports.
According to an informative note of the Government, the commission set up three sub-commissions on science and technology, culture and art, and on sport. These sub-commissions will analyze the files more thoroughly.
Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Potang, who is the commission’s head, asked the members to use objective criteria, saying the National Award must be given to persons who achieved significant results in the area where they work. The next meeting of the commission will take place on August 19.
