The police during the state of emergency of March 17 - May 15 logged 2,100 violations of the epidemiological rules set down by the Commission for Exceptional Satiations and imposed fines totaling over 42 million lei.
Contacted by IPN, Alina Zbancă, adviser to the minister of home affairs, said the contraventions were committed by over 2,000 private individuals, 67 business entities, 32 carriers and 26 priests.
In March, the Contravention Code was supplemented with a new article concerning the non-observance of the epidemic disease prophylaxis, prevention and combating measure. The fines for endangering of public health oscillate between 22,000 and 25,000 lei in the case of private individuals and between 50,000 and 75,000 lei in the case of legal entities.
