2015 National Award winners announced

The winners of the 2015 National Award have been announced, after the list was approved today, August 19, by the government. Each winner or group of winners will receive 100,000 lei, IPN reports.

Valentina Dogotari (Nafornita), a soprano at the Vienna State Opera, received the award for her exceptional performances and contribution to the development of European lyrical theater.

One of the awards was offered for implementing the new concept of public health in Moldova. The recipients are professors and doctors of medicine Ion Bahnarel, Vasile Jovmir, Oleg Lozan and Victoria Ivanov, and doctors of biology Liuba Coretchi and Leonid Volosciuc.

Nicolae Botgros, first conductor of the National Folkloric Music Orchestra “Lautarii”, was awarded for his contribution to the preservation and promotion of musical folklore.

Professor Valentina Tomulet, PhD in history, got an award for his series of books “History of Bessarabia in the modern age (1812-1918)”.

Another award was offered for the monograph “Cinematographic art in Moldova”, published by Ana-Maria Plamadeala, PhD in arts and senior researcher, and Violeta Tipa, PhD in arts and lecturer-researcher.

PhDs Valentina Stratan, Vladimir Sutchin and Valeriu Balba received an award for their “Hereditary theory of lung cancer”.

Mihai Potarniche won an award for his lifetime career in photography.

Poet, writer, literary critic, translator, essayist and editor-in-chief of Cartier publishing house, Emilian Galaicu-Paun, received an award for his poetry volume “Speaking weapons”.

An award went to Valerian Balan, PhD in agriculture, for his series of works “Technologies in intensive apple and cherry cultures”.

The authors of the 14 albums in the series “Basarabian masters in the 20th century”, published by ARC, won an award as well: editor Iurie Barsa, architect, art critic and PhD Eleonora Brigalda-Barbas, historian of art Vladimir Bulat, art critic and PhD Ludmila Toma, editor and literary critic Eugen Lungu, visual artist Mihail Bacinschi, electrical engineer Mihai Dimitriu and art critic Tudor Braga.

The Awards Gala will take place on August 26, at the Palace of the Republic.
