Parliament passed a draft decision on the budget of the Constitutional Court for 2014. Next year, the Court’s budget will be 18.5 million lei, an increase of 69.1% on this year, IPN reports.
A sum of 6.6 million lei will be used to cover personnel-related costs, while 8 million lei will go to make investments, including in finishing the reconstruction of block B. The other expenses will total 4.8 million lei.
Money was also allocated for the external activities of the Constitutional Court, mainly for celebrating the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and for taking part in world and European forums to which the Court is a party. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, an international jubilee conference will be organized in concert with Parliament. The expenses for organizing this event were included in the additional costs planned.
