Prime Minister Vlad Filat said that this year is decisive for Moldova’s future. In the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, he stated that an enormous effort has been made for the country to be included in the European agenda. If the pace is lost this year, Moldova may lose again the European prospect, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“2013 is decisive for Moldova’s future. We often forget that not Europe depends on us, but we depend on what is happening in Europe. Europe has a political agenda and calendar that we cannot influence. We made a considerable effort to be included in the European agenda, but if we lose the pace and course this year, we can again lose the European prospect,” stated Vlad Filat
He also said that an EU mission is in Moldova to assess the visa liberalization action plan, which will complete its duty on March 15. According to him, this is a very important exercise that can be interrupted by those who insist on resignations.
According to the Premier, the early elections represent a very great risk to Moldova’s future as the European calendar may not be met. “If we fail by the Vilnius summit, I don’t know when we will be able to regain our authority before the European partners, their trust and the political decision of the European Union to give us integration prospects,” said Vlad Filat.
He stressed that now it’s not the time for resignations. “There is a chance to save Moldova’s European course. There is a way out of any situation if you really want to find it. I’m absolutely sure that we now can ensure the continuity of the European integration process and stable governance,” said the Premier.
