2011 budget year will end with minus 100 million, Dorin Chirtoaca

“The 2011 budget year, after 4 years of work and 4 years of reform, will end with minus 100 million lei in accounts”, stated Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca at the City Hall's meeting on Monday. The Mayor said that, although the money will be recovered next year, the situation was complicated and was created on purpose. Dorin Chirtoaca further stated that it was concerning that for the fourth consecutive year the City Hall was assigned higher income targets while resources remained limited. Veronica Herta, the head of the Finance Division, said the municipality's liabilities that needed to be settled until the end of the year were around 120 million lei. “This amount includes part of the debt owed to Termocom. Without Termocom there is 100 million lei. Now we need to see how much revenue we will accumulate in five days that remain until the end of the year”, said Veronica Herta. She stressed that the municipality had no debts in respect of salaries. The 2011 municipal budget provided for incomes of 1,889.8 million and expenses of 2,310.4 million lei.
