This year saw the most significant improvements in the relations between Moldova and Romania, Ambassador Marius Lazurca said during the reception held at the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau on December 1, on Romania’s National Day, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“After a period of stagnation, the relations between the two countries have developed considerably, being characterized by intense and diversified activity,” said the Romanian Ambassador to Moldova.
For his part, Prime Minister Vlad Filat stressed that Romania continued to provide support to Moldova within the international and regional organizations even when the relations have been less constructive.
He said that the things shared by Romania and Moldova help to achieve the objective of full integration onto the EU’s system of values and facilitate the bilateral cooperation.
“Romania supported us in the most difficult moments, when we were strengthening our sovereignty and independence, and offers important political assistance in developing the relations with the EU,” Vlad Filat said, underlining that Romania is the first country that recognized Moldova’s independence.
