For the first time, the 2009 draft budget provides for supporting activities related to the integration of the country. The question is about 10 million lei. “The reintegration has been and is a priority for the present government. These are the first means allocated in the budget for this purpose. The amount will rise in the future and we hope for other contributions to this fund of the reintegration, including from different private entities, foreign donors,” Premier Zinaida Greceanai told a news conference occasioned by 6 months of her heading the Cabinet, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“It's clear the negotiations process cannot be easy, yet everybody shall know that our option for the 5+2 format is an absolutely firm one. We also insist that the negotiations roll out in strict conformity with the Law on the status of the localities on the Nistru's left bank,” Greceanai stated.
The Premier has underlined an obvious rapprochement is seen lately between the two Nistru's banks in many ares of common interest. The Transnistrian companies benefit from the same exemptions in trading with the EU as the entrepreneurs from the right bank do. Some 70% of the exports from the districts on the left bank are directed to wards the EU markets.
The Prime-Minister assessed as fruitful the cooperation with the Tiraspol authorities in liquidating the aftereffects of the floods. “Given this constructive approach on the part of these Transnistrian functionaries, the medical equipment donated by the U.S.A. reached the hospitals from the left bank, too,” Zinaida Greceanai said.
The Premier hopes the money earmarked in the 2009 budget will intensify the human and economic contacts between the two banks, as well as the cooperation between different structures of the public administration.
