The 200,000 doses of Tamiflu will reach the Moldovan-Ukrainian border on Sunday, November 15. The information was provided at the meeting of the national extraordinary antiepidemic commission on Friday evening, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mircea Buga, representative of the Medication Agency, said the truck with Tamiflu drugs was in Germany on Friday and that it will get to Moldova on Sunday. Minister of Health Vladimir Hotineanu said the drugs will be distributed free of charge and the family doctors do not have the right to administer them for payment. He added that 11 persons infected with pandemic flu, who were admitted to the National Hospital, are now in a serious condition. “The flu was imported mainly from Ukraine and Russia,” the minister said. Viorel Melnic, the head of the Customs Service, informed the commission that the traffic near the northern border is limited because the market in the Ukrainian town of Cernauti was closed. At the southern border, the traffic is as usual. Melnic also said that a batch of 50,000 protection masks will come to Moldova on Saturday. They will be distributed to employees of the customs service as they now purchase the masks with their own money. Iurie Panzaru, the director of the Municipal Preventive Medicine Center, said three minibus routes were suspended in Chisinau as the drivers did not respect the hygiene rules. The Minister of Health said the medial institutions are ready to deal with the flu in continuation and advised the people to wear masks and avoid coming into contact with infected persons.
