The police from Chisinau will intensely patrol the parks in the next few days in order to prevent turning the rest zones into garbage zones and avoiding the illicit tree cuttings by the inhabitants of the city while making barbeques. According to an order of the General Commissioner of Police, 5 mobile patrol groups formed of district inspectors and mobile squads of the Patrol and Sentinel Regiment “Scut” (“Shield”) have been formed. The vice-commissioner of the Chisinau municipality, Petru Corduneanu states that in the parks of the Botanica district the public order will be guaranteed by three chivalry squads. According to Corduneanu, the policemen won’t penalize too harsh the citizens, even if the legislation stipulates so, because they will prevent at first the citizens to rest in the places set by the local authorities, to preserve the parks clean and to protect the nature. The Code of minor offences stipulates that in the case of illicit tree cutting down the fine is up to 180 lei, if the consequences are not serious. The persons that cut down trees in the green zones are liable to penal punishments, added the vice-commissioner of the Chisinau municipality, Petru Corduneanu.
