A man aged 20 from Stefan Voda district was sentenced to 17 years behind bars and chemical castration for raping two girls aged 5 and 6. This is the fifth pedophile in Moldova condemned to chemical castration so far, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO).
The PGO was informed about the case by the girl’s mother this February, when she found out that the brother of her partner repeatedly raped her daughters. The woman and her partner went to work in the neighboring village and the girls remained in the care of the culprit. The truth came out when one of the neighbors caught the young man red-handed.
The prosecutors consider that the punishment is too mild and intend to appeal it to a higher court.
