The first consignment of 20 ventilators purchased in the framework of the World Bank-funded Moldova Emergency COVID-19 Response Project reached the destination, IPN reports. The ventilations will be distributed to health facilities that have intensive care units, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu posted on Facebook.
The medical institutions will also get 400 infusers, 200 monitors and 42 electrocardiographs that were bought as part of the same project.
Viorica Dumbrăveanu noted that the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection is in the process of identifying 300 additional beds in the municipal health facilities so as to cope with the number of patients confirmed with COVID-19. Solutions are being looked for to increase the number of beds at the Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Health and at the National Narcological Dispensary.
