A boy, aged one year and nine months, was mutilated by what appeared to be a vicious fighting dog. However, the child miraculously survived the attack. Dr. Anatol Proca of the Chisinau Emergency Service has told Info-Prim Neo that the accident occurred in Chisinau's suburban village of Ciorescu. The boy suffered multiple injuries, including fractures of the facial bones. Large parts of skin were torn off his head and face. No details about the circumstances of the accident are available. Two teenage Chisinau girls, both aged 16, jumped from height in two separate suicide attempts. The first leaped into a 20-meter-deep well after taking a handful of pills. The girl was eventually rescued, but she sustained multiple fractures, brain concussion, spinal fracture, and traumatic shock. The second girl jumped from the roof of a 5-floor apartment building on Independentei Street, suffering open fracture of the left shank, contusion of the internal organs and internal bleeding. A 58-year-old woman died during an open-air Jehovah's Witnesses prayer conference in Chisinau. The organizers could be held accountable for the failure to have an ambulance crew assist the event. Five persons were injured on Saturday in a traffic accident that involved an ambulance. The vehicle was moving along Grenoble Street to respond to an emergency call when a minibus driven at high speeds started to spin around on the rain-slicked road until it hit the ambulance in the front. As a result, both drivers as well as the occupants of the vehicles suffered brain concussions. As Anatol Proca said, that was the second time the ambulance in question got struck.
