During the next about two months, the conductors in a number of trolleybuses will give out tickets on which there will be indicated the price of 1 leu. But the fare remains unchanged – 2 lei.
Gheorghe Morgoci, director of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company, has told Info-Prim Neo that there is a store of older tickets printed before the trolleybus fare was raised. “Money was spent on those tickets and we thus decided not to throw them. Nothing changes for the passengers. The fare remains the same,” he stated.
The store of about 15 million tickets of 1 leu will be used up over about two months. According to Gheorghe Morgoci, the company would sustain losses of 300,000 lei if the old tickets were destroyed and there were printed the same quantity of new tickets.
A similar situation was witnessed in 2008, when the passengers received tickets of 1.5 lei for a trip that cost 1 leu. The tickets were printed in 2006, when the Chisinau Electric Transport Company expected that the trolleybus fare will be increased from 0.75 lei to 1.5 lei, but it wasn’t.
