As many as 195 persons infected with the novel coronavirus are in a serious state and ten of them were put on a ventilator. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection said that more than 500 persons got cured, IPN reports.
After the April 21 meeting of the National Focal Point, Minister of Health Viorica Dumbrăveanu said that two more labs will start to test samples for COVID-19 today. They are housed by the National Center for Medical Diagnosis and the Dermatology and Communicable Diseases Hospital.
In another development, the minister spoke about the Ștefan Vodă District Hospital that was placed in quarantine. The hospital’s medical personnel will be massively tested for COVID-19 this week. The institution will be supplied with protective equipment and the medical staff will be trained again.
The state of emergency in Moldova was declared for 60 days, until May 15. As many as 2,548 persons had been confirmed with COVID-19 in Moldova by April 20. Of these, 70 succumbed to the disease.
