A man aged 19 from Ungheni died as a result of a traffic accident that occurred near Ungheni town in the evening of April 21. Contacted by IPN for details, Ungheni Police Inspectorate press officer Cristina Vicol said a 41-year-old driver from Călărași town struck by his truck a pedestrian aged 19 on the road that bypasses Ungheni.
The driver told the police the pedestrian appeared suddenly before the truck in a place that wasn’t lit and this didn’t wear reflective clothing. The young man died before the arrival of an ambulance. The alcotest showed the driver wasn’t under the influence of alcohol.
