Nineteen students of the secondary school of Mihailovca village of Cimislia district were taken to the district hospital with food poisoning. According to the Ministry of Health, the children were poisoned by a homemade cake that they ate when celebrating the birthday of a mate. The students’ state of health is now stable, IPN reports.
Officials of the National Public Health Center travelled to the scene and established that the secondary school’s administration started to prepare food for the students event if the institution hasn’t been issued with a sanitary authorization. Some of the products, like the juice and cakes, were given to students in the absence of quality and production date certificates.
Moreover, the administration allowed staging festivities with products banned by an order of the Ministry of Health, such as cakes, chocolate and zephyr. It was decided to fine the head of the District Education Division, the school’s principal, the class master and the school’s chef.
