18-year-old gets 18 years in jail

A man aged 18 from Ungheni was sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment for murdering a person, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, last autumn the culprit stabbed to death another young man during a quarrel. The offender was abandoned by his parents. He had been earlier tried for another crime. Another two young men from Cahul district got 19 and, respectively, 20 years in prison for beating to death a man while under the influence of alcohol last year. The sentences can be appealed to a higher court.
