A boy aged 18 drowned in a pond in Chircaiestii Noi village of Causeni district in the afternoon of June 9. Rescuers of the Cainari Rescuers and Firefighters Division found the body after a search of about an hour and a half, IPN reports.
The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns against swimming in places where there are currents and holes, at night and when there is wind as well as when under the influence. It is not recommended using air mattresses, rubber tires and other improvised objects for swimming. The children must be supervised permanently and be accompanied in the water.
Eleven cases of drowning have been reported since the start of the warm season. Two of the victims were minors.
