Eighteen persons lost the battle with COVID-19 on October 8, taking the death toll to 1,424, IPN reports, with reference to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
The victims are eight women and ten men aged between 52 and 87.
As many as 1,121 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed today, 65 of which in healthcare workers. Moldova has got 59,900 infections with the novel coronavirus so far.
A number of 776 infected people are in a serious state and 32 of these were put on a ventilator.
About 43,000 persons have been cured of COVID-19 by now.
